30 weeks...possibly 31??

I had an ultrasound last week and of course the tech told me that everything looked good and there were no problems, but I got an email the other day with the official results of the ultrasound...it said the same..everything looked great..no problems..BUT it had a different estimated due date!   The baby measured almost a week ahead and had my due date listed as being November 26th!!  Thats really only about 6 days earlier, but seems exciting because it is the month earlier haha.  Anyway, I am somewhere between 30 and 31 weeks!  I can't believe we are in the 30's now!  Very exciting and I get more and more anxious to meet my little girl everyday.  I think about her all the time and wonder what she will look like, who she will look like, and what her personality will be.  I can't wait to hold her and love her!  The boys are getting very excited too.  It still seems like a very long ways away to them since they are thinking around Christmas time..and its not even Halloween yet.  They always ask questions about her and wonder what it will be like to have a sister.  They will be awesome big brothers!

So at 30ish weeks:
* Brooklyn weighs in at about 3 pounds
* She makes my belly turn into all kinds of weird shapes...very odd feeling..but I love it
* Grandma and Poppa bought Brooklyn her crib! Hopefully she loves it
* I get the hiccups ALL the time...I still don't notice her having them though.
* She doesn't kick as much as she rolls and moves across my belly
* Headaches are not as often, but definitely still there
* I make many many trips to the bathroom...with very little pee every time.
* My belly is getting bigger and I am getting the dark line up my belly now
* Brooklyn stops moving every time her Daddy looks or tries to feel her move. Hehehe
* Still loves her music, but it seems to calm her now.
* Belly button is starting to pop out..yuck!
* Its getting harder to breathe when I sit and I get winded much easier walking around. My lungs and organs are getting squished!! :)

Zachary's football accident & the boys sports

Last Sunday, Sept. 16, we traveled to Towanda for Dylan and Zach's football games.  They were both a little nervous going into the games because this team is known for playing kinda of dirty and having some big kids on their team.  Dylan's team tried their best and had a good game but unfortunately Towanda won due to having much larger players than Sayre.  Sometimes I think they feed their kids fertilizer out there!  Anyway, Dylan was just happy to make it off the field in one piece.  He is doing great so far this season and seems to love playing.  He never complains about the daily practices or the games.  We weren't sure he would stick it out at first.  He says the best part is tackling people!  He plays the split end and always remembers to signal the ref that he is on the line. TOO cute!  He also is on the kick off team.

So after Dylan's game was over it was Zach's teams turn to play.  Zach is in 5th grade and on the 5th/6th grade Sayre Junior Redskins team.  He is a good player and usually gets a lot of play time.  Zach was returning a kick off and running the ball up the field when a kid from the Towanda team completely crushed him.  He knocked Zach to the ground and then landed right on top of him.  Needless to say, this kid was 5 foot 10 inches and weighed 265 pounds!!! Little Zach only weighs about 65 pounds!  Zach was slow getting up but he got up and walked off the field on his own.  We thought he was ok, until his coach came over to get Derek to come see Zach.  Derek ran over to him and found him hysterically crying and complaining that his stomach hurt.  He complained mostly of the pain on the left side of his body.  The EMT's had left for the evening, no idea why, so the trainers and a few nurses that were in the crowd were trying to help him out.  After he settled down a little, he insisted that he wanted to go back in the game.  The trainer had him run up and down the field and Derek was tossing him the ball to make sure he wasnt favoring anything.  They were about to let him back in the game when Derek finally decided it wasnt worth it and headed to the ER to make sure everything was ok.  To make a long story short, they did blood work and a CT scan and found that he had a level two laceration on his liver.  We had no idea how serious this was until they told us he had to be transferred either by air or ambulance to a Geisinger Children's Hospital where there is a pediatric trauma unit.  Derek rode with Zach in the ambulance and got there around 4 in the morning.

Zach fast asleep in the hospital

They kept him on complete bed rest there for almost 3 days when he was finally able to come home. He was out of school for an entire week and not able to do any physical activity for 6 weeks...the worst part..no sports for 6 months.  By the time Zach got home from the hospital he was not in much pain and able to move around perfectly...so trying to explain to a 10 year old active boy that he could ONLY walk was impossible.  He wanted to bounce off the walls, run around, shoot hoops, throw the football, and wrestle his brothers.  I wish we had a bubble to put him in!  He is not happy about being done with football but its better than ending up back in the hospital because his liver laceration was bleeding again.  Scary stuff...

His team has been great at welcoming him to help out even though he can't play..

Zach's coaches made him a co-capt...walking out to do the coin toss
Zach is number 5

Heading back from the coin toss...He loves that he is still part of the team!

They have even made Zach an assistant offensive coordinator.  He seemed so depressed during his stay at the hospital and then at home when he knew he couldnt play football...so this has really helped him!

Colton has been playing soccer too!!  Although, he really really really wishes he could play football.  Unfortunately, due to his heart and chest he can not take the chance of being hurt and damaging anything.  He'll have to be our soccer star!  He has been doing great this year!  He isn't afraid to go after the ball at all.  I think he finally found his nitch as the goalie!!  Of course, now he insists he needs a pair of goalie gloves too haha.  He does really well as goalie and doesnt hesitate to scoop up the ball, even with lots of little cleats coming at him.  Hopefully he continues to do well and like the sport since he won't have many options as he gets older and sports get more physical and rough.

Ultrasound Update!

We had an ultrasound today just to see what was going on in there and see if there were any problems that would be causing the spotting.  The good news is....there were NO problems that they can see anywhere!!  The bad news is....we still don't know what is causing it...but maybe it is just what is normal for my body.  As long as baby is healthy thats all that matters!

The ultrasound was super cool though!  We got to see her doing all sorts of things in there and got a lot of awesome pictures!  They checked to make sure all of her major organs were still intact.  Her heart, stomach, bladder, kidneys, and umbilical cord all looked great.  Unfortunately the little booger was hiding her face so we didn't get any real good looks at her face but what we did see looked adorable!

She has some hair...which is very exciting since I was bald until almost 3!!  She has her momma's flip flop feet with the space between the big toe and other toes.  We watched her open and close her eyes and mouth.  We watched her drink her amniotic fluid.  She seemed to be playing hide and seek...she would peek out from behind the placenta and then hide her face again. SO fun!  It literally made my heart melt!  She measured perfect...to the day!  She weighs about 3 pounds so far and is in the 64%tile overall.  They were happy with that...not too big and not too small.

We tried everything to get her to move so we could see her little face. I tried going to the bathroom, we poked and pushed on her...NOTHING...finally the lady pulled out a little buzzer thing that vibrates lightly and put it on my belly...she jumped and kicked but then went right back into her hiding spot.  She had her hands up by her face the entire time and kept pulling at her little ears or hair..we weren't sure which.

Oh and she is definitely a she...we had them check again since the first one they had a hard time getting! Phew...already have an awful lot of pink and purple!

Here are some of my favorite pictures!

Here is the little foot that looks just like mine!  Flip flop feet!!

Her tiny arms..looks like she will be strong lol

So excited she will have a little hair!  Those little strands are hairs

Half of Brooklyn's face...she was hiding behind the placenta and playing peek a boo!

All of a sudden her eyes got huge and her mouth opened real wide!! Love the caption the ultrasound tech added!

Oh baby!!

Things are still NUTS around here.  School has started and is now in full swing!  The boys all seem to like school so far this year, although if you ask them, they will tell you different.  Colton and Dylan started at Snyder Elementary this year and so far say they like it better than Epiphany!  Dylan made a lot of friends playing football so that made his transition MUCH easier.  And Colton, well he will talk to anyone, so we weren't too worried about him in the first place.  As for me, its IEP season, and that means meetings, meetings, meetings, paperwork, paperwork, paperwork!  Already almost half done though, so I am getting there!!

Dylan and Zach are still loving football.  They had their first game last weekend and did great!  Dylan's team lost, but they all played a good game.  Zach's team won their game.  Zach had a couple really nice carries during the game and played awesome! He is getting a lot of playing time this year so he is thrilled!  I wish I could post pictures but I used my camera and they will not upload to the computer for some reason.  I'm working on it.

The plans for the addition are coming along.  We even got word the other day that they are going to be starting within the next couple weeks. Exciting!  Of course, there was a glitch with the loan so as soon as we figure that out we should be good to go!  The boys will each have their own room AND we will have a nursery for Brooklyn!

Im 28 weeks and few days now, and we've still been struggling with the same issues as always.  The doctors dont seem to have an answer as to why it keeps happening but don't seem too concerned.  I spent a few hours in labor and delivery last Friday.  They hooked me up to a monitor for a while to make sure things were ok.  Brooklyn kicked the monitor the entire time it was on my belly.  It seems to be happening more frequently so today the Dr. ordered an ultrasound for tomorrow just to make sure things are as they should be.  I had a scheduled appt the other day and everything looked good.  My belly measured the right size and the baby's heartbeat sounded good.  Hopefully the ultrasound will go well tomorrow also!

So at 28 weeks:
* Brooklyn is still very active
* She is big enough now that when she moves in my belly it makes it look like it is morphing into weird shapes :)  I think she is rolling over or flipping around.
* She continues to enjoy music but doesn't really respond to startling noises like sneezes or dogs barking..maybe she is just used to these things because they both occur very frequently.
* She likes to kick any kind of monitor that is hooked to my belly while at the doctors.  Its pretty funny!
* I continue to wake up with headaches daily....one thing I will not miss after I give birth!
* Still no big cravings and not starving all the time...normal appetite
* Would enjoy a frozen snickers bar...but not necessary!
* People are finally really able to tell that I am pregnant and many people ask about it now...mostly students at school.  My favorite thing is when someone asks me "Are you Pregnant?" or "When are you due?" and I tell them I am not pregnant...the look on their face is priceless...I of course do tell them I am kidding!
