Troubles & Triumphs of a Growing Family: January 2013

Brooklyn is continuing to grow like a little weed! I had her at the doctors today and she is weighing in at 12 pounds 5 ounces!!! HOLY COW! At her two week appointment she was 10 lbs 3 oz. She's gonna be a big girl! She'll probably out grow her brothers soon. She is doing well...she sleeps about 3 - 4 hours at a time during the night before she wakes up to eat. She is eating about 4 ounces at a feeding give or take her mood. Sometimes 5 ounces sometimes only 2 or 3...

She is becoming more and more aware of her surroundings...she smiles a lot more (still not sure if its gas or a real smile..but I like to think its a real smile) She follows things very well with her eyes and holds her head really well. She is very strong and can sit herself up when leaning against someone..its kinda crazy! She does not like to lay down...she is a very nosey baby and needs to be sitting up to see everything that is going on. She likes to move around constantly...if she is awake there is never a time that she is still. Her little legs or arms are constantly moving. Maybe that means she will be a good athlete! She's got lungs like her cousin Lilley! She can scream in this pathetic heart wrenching squeal that makes my heart break every time.

She absolutely loves bath time! There have been times where she is just crying inconsolably and as soon as her little tushy hits warm water she immediately stops crying and calms right down...now when she gets out...thats a different story sometimes lol....I think she would live in a bath if she could!

The boys love looking at her and watching her. They fight over who gets to sit next to her on the couch or who gets to hold her first. As soon as she fusses though, they are ready for someone else to take her. They are mortified by us changing her diapers in front of them and they all freak out and cover their eyes lol. All in all she is a very loved and protected baby girl.

I have developed two addictions since she has been born..
1.) Shopping for clothes for Brooklyn...I love dressing her every morning and feel that she needs a new outfit everyday. She has worn a few outfits more than once but not many...I need to stop buying her clothes!!
2.) Taking pictures of Brooklyn...I take multiple pictures of her every single day. I feel like she is growing and changing so much that I need to capture every moment while she is still little. I don't want her to grow up soo fast! I have decided that I am going to make a photo book every three months on Shutterfly while she is little and then every 6 months/year as she gets older...kind of like a year book you would get in high school. I cant wait to make the first one!
