Brooklyn Oh Brooklyn - 27 month update

Oh my lovely Brooklyn is growing into a strong independent....ANIMAL!!  This child is crazy lol and often times I have to ask my mom and Derek if this behavior is normal!  Now don't get me wrong...for the most part she is a great baby.  She is funny, caring, loving, and compassionate. BUT there are days that I question if I am raising a complete animal.  Everyone says this is normal...and dare I say...gets worse at 3?!?!? I don't know if I can handle that!

On her good days (which is most of the time) she plays and laughs and runs around like a crazy kid all day. No naps for this monster anymore..at least on most days.  She is happy and loves to entertain everyone.
On her bad days...oh her bad days....she is grumpy and miserable.  She is mean to her sister and pushes her around and takes toys from her.  She will deliberately do things we told her not to do and do things she already knows she should not do.  She will yell and scream at everyone and everything.  She will throw a complete fit over something so petty and small.  Thank goodness these days are few and far between...although most days do not go without a few good fits.

Thankfully she is awesome in stores for the most part.  No fits over not getting things..yet and hopefully it stays that way. She also loves to help out around the house now.  She feeds the dog everyday and even helps me unload the dishwasher!  She drags her chair around the whole house claiming to be "helping" me wherever I am...bathroom, kitchen, living room, laundry room....she is always "helping".  Hopefully this carries over into her teenage years! She is usually good with her sister but definitely has her moments.  She likes to make sure sissy is ok when she cries always offers her a cookie or snack when she has one.  She is not so good at sharing toys.  The girls fight about toys often....

She loves her family and gets super excited when she sees them...which is often!  I love having my parents, and Derek's parents close by so that she can grow up being close to them.  She screeches for joy when someone comes to the house.

She is going through a phase where she is afraid of "monsters".  She wants to lights on and doesn't want to go into a dark room.  She will peek around corners claiming to see monsters if its dark.  It breaks my heart to see her afraid but I think its a phase all little kids go through.

Brissy is 15 months and full of personality

So every once in a while I go back and see what Brooklyn was doing at this time last year to see how much the girls are alike.  It absolutely amazes me how much I wrote that describes Bristol to a T now! They are so similar but so different at the same time.  Bristol's personality is really starting to shine.  She knows what she wants and knows how to get it.  She is becoming more independent and wants to do things that her brothers and sister are doing.  She is fairly outgoing and not afraid to wander off and play with other kids.  She is still a huge momma's girl (which I love) but isn't always afraid to leave my side and go to other people.

Recently we lost our sweet Grandma J and lots of family came to say good bye.  Many of these people Bristol..and Brooklyn...had never met.  Bristol wasn't afraid of anyone!  She let other people pick her up and she played with the other kids.  Brooklyn stuck close to our sides or to a close aunt or uncle.  She warmed up to her Uncle Mark pretty quick though!

Bristol is full of piss and vinegar for sure.  She gets into anything and everything she can.  She makes huge messes and laughs the whole time.  She loves to run wild around the house and is really starting to climb things.  She now uses the dog as a stool to get onto the couch.  She is sure to be my little spit fire drama queen!

Bris just had her 15 month well visit and is happy and healthy!  She weighs 26 lbs 12 ounces ( 97%tile and down a pound from 12 month check up).  31.5 inches long (85%tile).  Shes tall and chunky :)  Dr. Terwilliger said she was the perfect size...was on track developmentally and was in great health.  She was just on her first antibiotic ever this month as she had RSV and a nasty cold...She had to take a high dose of amoxicillin as well as a steriod and breathing treatments every 4 hours.  She handled it all like a champ!

So at 15 months Bristol:
* walks and runs wild all over the place
* loves to laugh and giggle
* says a ton of words momma, dadda, dog, zoey, sis, so-a (Sophia), Dora, Zach, Nana, Poppa, pop (lollipop and popsicle), fish, side (outside), jump, eyes, nose, mouth, and a ton more...she will repeat anything we ask her to say.
* still loves Dora and asks for it non-stop
* loves to hang out with Zach in his room
* loves to eat meat...pork chops, chicken, hot dog, turkey, and salami
* eats goldfish like its her job
* climbs on the ottoman and bounces
* is a terrible sleeper
* is officially off her bottle completely...for a while now actually
* loves her sippy....and likes to have ahold of it while falling asleep
* likes to cuddle still
* can point out her eyes, nose, mouth, and ears
* loves shoes and loves to put them on
* hates socks and will not leave them on
* likes to sit and look at books
* naps once a day

Bristol is 14 months old and lil sassy pants!

Bristol is coming into her toddler years with a scream.  Ha....needless to say she screams a lot.  She screams for fun, she screams for attention, and she screams just to scream.  And let me tell you..she can scream very very loud!  She definitely lets you know when she wants something or when Brooklyn is doing something that she does not approve of.  I definitely think this little girl is going to be a drama queen.  She loves her momma to pieces and momma loves that she is a momma's girl but it breaks my heart when I can't be there every minute of everyday to hold her or pick her up.  She cries when I leave in the morning unless she is busy playing and she cries when I leave a room.  She is starting to get better with this but still wants momma all the time.  It won't last forever, I better enjoy it now!  Bris is always on the go and trying to keep up with her sister and brothers.  She is learning a lot from Brooklyn..good and bad! She talks like crazy and is starting to climb things.  She's getting very smart and loves to show you her nose, mouth, and socks.  She never wants to sit still unless Dora is on TV.  She is obsessed with Dora and walks around the house repeatedly saying Dora, Dora, Dora.
