Zach just finished a great season of Junior High Basketball and CYO basketball for FTCC. He has really come along way with basketball and has grown into a great player. He is starting his first AAU basketball season with the Elmira Ice. He loves playing for them and gets along great with all of the kids and the coach. It is nice for him to get away from the small town drama that sports in the valley involve. Junior High Baseball will also be starting at the end of this month so he will be a busy boy. He is growing and maturing into quite the young man. He is still beyond great with his little sisters and always take the time to play with them and help them. He is doing well in school but he seems to be going through a phase where school doesn't seem AS important to him as it has in the past. I am hoping this is a phase that will pass quickly.
Dylan just finished up his second season of Sayre Rec Basketball. He has also grown into his skin and become quite a good basketball player. He loves basketball and is hoping to play for an AAU team also, but we will see. He is also playing Little League this year and should be starting practice soon. Baseball always keeps us very busy through most of the summer. Dylan has become a social butterfly and his friends are always here after school playing. They like to be outside playing basketball or running around playing jail break. Dylan does very good in school and we couldn't ask for him to do better. He puts school first and is very conscientious about getting his work done and getting good grades. He is also great with his sisters but loves to make them mad and then laugh at their reaction. We often have to tell him to knock it off and leave them alone, but he always plays well with them and goofs around with them.
Colton also just finished up his first season of Sayre Rec Basketball. He is a good player but still needs to get comfortable in his own skin. He looks up to the older kids and tries very hard to be just like them, which is good and bad. He is well on his way to figuring out his own way but until then we need to guide him in the right direction as much as possible because he is easily influenced. He is completely girl crazy and seems to have a new girlfriend every other day. His brothers get a kick out of this and it always seems to be a good fight starter. Colton is doing well in school in everything except math. He is doing ok in math but seems to struggle with the common core math that his class is learning. Heck, Derek and I can't even do it most of the time. He is hitting the sassy preteen stage and seems to think he knows everything about everything. He often has to be put back into his place but is slowly figuring that out too. He has been playing baseball for The Edge in Vestal and taking lessons with John at Stealing Home all winter. I am excited to see his progress as we head into Little League this season. He is guaranteed to outshine his brothers as he is a much better baseball player than the other two.
Brooklyn hit 3 years old and has developed many different personalities lol. We have the happy go lucky Brooklyn who loves to play and joke around. She can sit and entertain herself for a while and uses her manners often. Then we have the bossy mother Brooklyn who likes tell everyone what to do and often sounds just like I do :) She likes to be a little mommy to Bristol and let her know just how to do things and when not to do something. She likes to tell her when to not put things in her mouth and when to not touch things. Then we have the whiny moody Brooklyn who will snap at the drop of a hat and burst into tears over absolutely nothing. Getting a fruit snack package that is pink instead of purple can send her into a tail spin. She often has meltdowns over nothing in particular and takes forever to settle down. She is very dramatic and loves to talk talk talk. Fairly often I catch her saying things or sassing back to me or her sister or brothers and she sounds just like....ME! Oy! I have created a little monster clone of myself. I secretly love it though :)
Then we have little Bristol. She is a huge ball of fire with the biggest personality ever! She is the happiest most laid back kid...but is certainly learning to fight back against her sister and her brothers. She no longer allows Brooklyn to take things away from her or to push her around. She goes right in for a battle and doesn't back down. She is brutal! She is afraid of nothing and will jump off of anything she can climb on. She hardly walks as she is usually running everywhere she goes. She is also a little talker and is starting to form complete sentences really well. Zoey is her true love as she just adores that dog. Zoey loves her just as much too. She has the best belly laugh and loves to be tickled and giggle giggle giggle. She has a huge heart and is always very concerned when people are upset. She is a sweet sweet girl who loves her daddy LOL She always says she is Daddy's girl. That's ok with me as long as it stays Daddy and no other boys :)
