Vacation!!

So we spent the past week in the Outer Banks enjoying friends and family!  This is definitely one of my favorite places in the world. It is so calm and peaceful there..honestly I cant even describe it.  Anyway we had a great time.  We left at night and drove straight through the night and arrived in the Outer Banks around 7am.  We had a whole lot of time to waste since we could not get into the house until about 3pm.  We made the best of it and did some shopping and sightseeing.
Dylan riding the mechanical shark! lol

Zach gave it a try too!

The first few nights we had some nasty thunderstorms but they are always fun to watch over the ocean.  The rest of the weather was HOT HOT HOT.  There were days that the heat index reached 115 degrees!!  Thank goodness we had a pool to relax in! The beach was beautiful but the waves were pretty intense this year!  Even the guys only went in to boogie board a few times.  The kids all loved playing in the sand and Derek was a good sport and let them bury him completely in the sand!

After a while the kids get tired of being sandy and we always head back to the pool to relax for the rest of the day!  We did go to the Aquarium and to the outlets one day when it was a little cloudy.  We stopped for lunch at Big Al's and Lilley danced her little heart out on the dance floor! We spent a lot of time at night on the beach looking for crabs and digging in the sand when it wasnt so hot!

Should this be our Christmas card next year??  LOL  Derek was yelling at Dylan because he was refusing to stand next to Colton in the picture and smile..TOO FUNNY
