My crib hopper - 19 months

As I sit here writing this, I am in Brooklyn's nursery waiting for her to fall asleep. Why you ask? Well, if I do not sit in the glider until she falls asleep she simply throws her leg over the top and slyly maneuvers her little body feet first over the top and slowly lowers herself to the floor.  She has gotten so good at this that there are times she startles me because I do not know she is out of her crib and she sneaks up on me in the kitchen or living room.  Not funny!  She is a silent ninja! At night, thankfully, we have always kept her door closed due to household noise and her being a light sleeper.  This is very helpful since she will wake in the middle of the night and decide to crib hop.  So instead of having to worry about her wandering the house and getting into danger, I only have to worry about her getting into the stuff in her room.  Baby proofed!! So now instead of waking to her cries...I awake to her banging on her bedroom door to be let out. Oy!! This kid is going to put me over the edge one of these days!

Brooklyn is going through a few stages right now that I am not a fan of.  For one, she refuses to eat....anything.  And two, she will consume only milk. She will not eat the foods she loved before. It was like she just woke up one day and decided to boycott food.  She will throw an epic fit for a sippy cup of milk instead of food.  She wants nothing but milk or extremely watered down juice, but mostly milk.  I couldn't wait to get her off formula because "milk is so much cheaper", HA, not when the child consumes a gallon in two days! Hopefully this passes quickly and we go back to being the good eater she used to be.

Brooklyn's language has taken off in the last month.  She now says a TON of words and will repeat most words if you ask her.  She is able to recognize and say the name all her family members (brothers, sister, aunts, uncles, grandparents) by looking at their picture.  She even associates objects with different people.  For example, Brooklyn likes to be right on my lap if I have the computer, so a lot of the time I just go to google image and look for things that she knows to work on language - recognition.  So I randomly decided to search Coca-Cola..as soon as a bottle of Coke popped up on the screen Brooklyn said, "Daddy".  I was shocked that she associates Coke to Derek...I mean he does drink it everyday!  Another example, I pulled an old pair of sneakers out of my closet the other day (which happen to be the same exact sneakers that Aunt Erica had also) and she looked at them and said, "Erka".   Craziness.  She is a smart little ninja! lol
